I stitched up this pillow for my favorite niece. (She’s technically my only niece, but she really is a favorite.) She has a short form of the quote as a tattoo. The pattern is from Etsy, and the pillow form is Ikea.
A small hint for stitching on black fabric: Put something white behind the cloth so it’s easier to find the holes. I usually just lay the pattern (printed on white paper) on my lap.

CSOTM: September 2018 — Irish Eyes
Here is September’s Cross Stitch of the Month. Mom has a bit of Irish in her and has always identified with the Emerald Isle. I like the repetition in the pattern of the Celtic Knot. Quick to stitch up. I might choose different greens next time, but I like it well enough.

Cross-stitch of the month for August, 2018.
My Mom lives across the country, so I don’t get to see her very often. I try to send a cross stitch card every month, hoping that it gives her something to talk about with her friends.
Here’s what I sent for August:
The pattern is from Better Homes and Gardens 2001 Cross Stitch Designs: The Essential Reference (1999), p. 37. Of course, I added the text. I was hard pressed to think of something snappy for August, so I kept it simple.
I added beads for the stamens, but they don’t really show up in the photo.
